Project Brief

The main activity contracted is for supply and installation of the instrumentation sensors along with making provision for recording and reporting of the sensor data from the dam site at regular intervals

Site: The dam site is situated on Dhamni river near Mouje Rai, Radha Nagari Taluka, Kolhapur District.

Type: The project envisages construction of an earthen dam across Dhamni river. Max height is approx. 74.64m with expected storage capacity 109.034 Mcum.

Scope of Instrumentation(supply, installation and commissioning)
  1. Foundation Piezometer - VW type (Qty 24 nos)
  2. Embarkment Piezometer – VW type (Qty 90 nos)
  3. Earth Pressure Cell – VW type (Qty 11 nos)
  4. Transducer type electric piezometer (Qty 4 nos)
  5. Surface Marker (Qty 9 nos)
  6. Casagranda type Sand Pipe Piezometer (Qty 11nos)

Others: Instrumentation terminated for recording and monitoring into Instrumentation room (referred as terminal well)

Notes for Piezometer wiring
  • The sensors are distributed in 1 to 7 layers.
  • The cables are routed through trenches in the corresponding layer.
  • The cables are jelly filled armored cables fixed to the trenches with epoxy-resin to ensure stability.
